Shelby Reveals New 900 HP Ford Mustang GT500KR

Shelby is set to mark its 60th anniversary by reviving one of its best-loved models, the Ford Mustang GT500KR, with production to be limited to just 180 examples, with an additional 45 set aside for foreign markets.

The vehicle will be the third Mustang GT500KR that Shelby has released. The “King of the Road” vehicle made its debut in 1968 and was then brought back four decades later in 2008. The newest model will be significantly more exclusive than the first two.

The latest GT500KR is powered by an upgraded 5.2 litre V-8 that’ll spit up over 900 horses when using 93 octane gas or above. Other modifications include a Shelby by Borla exhaust system as well as MagneRide suspension recalibration and Ford Performance front and rear sway bars.

The new model also flaunts a much sportier look than its forerunners. It has a carbon-fibre sculpted hood, front splitter and rear diffuser. It also sports Shelby rocker stripes and rides on a set of one-piece 6061-T6 forged aluminium-wrapped performance-spec tyres.

Production of the latest GT500KR will begin early next year.
