Tweeting on Thursday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he is “thinking of” leaving his jobs to instead become an influencer.

"It would be nice to have a bit more free time on my hands as opposed to just working day and night, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep 7 days a week. Pretty intense,” Musk said.

However, it remains unclear as to whether Musk, a prolific user of the social media platform, was being serious about quitting his positions. During a conference call in January of this year, Musk said he expects to be chief executive of Tesla for “several years.”

As well as serving as Tesla's CEO, Musk is also the founder and CEO of rocket company SpaceX, leads brain-chip startup Neuralink, and leads infrastructure company The Boring Company.

Musk is well known for causing a stir on social media. Last month, he asked his Twitter followers whether or not he should sell 10% of his stake in Tesla, to which the majority said he should. Since, Musk has sold shares worth almost $12 billion.
