Met Gala 2025: Photos from Fashion’s Boldest Night
The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, embraced the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," celebrating 300 years of Black fashion and dandyism. Co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, the event highlighted tailored menswear and the cultural significance of Black style.
Notable attendees included Rihanna, who revealed her pregnancy, Diana Ross, who wore a dress embroidered with her descendants' names, and Sofia Richie Grainge, making her first appearance since becoming a mother. The gala also featured tributes to historical figures like Josephine Baker and Julius Soubise.
The Costume Institute's exhibition, inspired by Monica L. Miller's work, was co-curated by Miller and Andrew Bolton, focusing on the tradition of the "black dandy" and the evolution of Black fashion.
