Global cooperation as a strategic mission
Kazakhstan is strengthening ties with leading US universities, thanks in large part to the initiatives of Nariman Rakhimov, a recognized expert and director of strategic development for the western region at IBC Group Work and Study. Rakhimov is a member of prestigious professional communities, including the AIECA (Alliance of Independent Experts of Central Asia), Strong People, ECDMA, and First-Class Business League (FCBL).
“My mission is to create an ecosystem where Kazakhstani talent can compete on the world stage using the best educational practices,”
Rakhimov said.
His projects go far beyond academic exchanges, shaping a new educational paradigm. At the international technology exhibition TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, he presented the Global Grand University project, an initiative aimed at promoting higher education in the US for students from Central Asia.
American standards in Kazakh universities
With a deep understanding of educational systems, Rakhimov emphasizes the advantages of the American model of education.
“Flexibility and practice-oriented learning are what make American universities world leaders. We are adapting these standards for Kazakhstan,” he explains.
Under his leadership, universities are introducing project-based learning and research approaches, creating world-class programs. Through the Global Grand University, students have access to professors from Harvard, Stanford, and MIT, while joint master's programs, online courses, and summer schools allow them to learn from the best practices around the world.
Recognition and expert evaluation
Rakhimov's professional achievements have been highly recognized: he has been awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” for his contribution to the development of education and international cooperation.
In addition, his expert opinion is valued in the international arena: Rakhimov was a member of the jury for the ECDMA Global Awards, where he evaluated projects by leading digital marketing experts from around the world.
Real results and international science
In 2023–2024, under his leadership, IBC Group organized more than 120 educational trips for students and teachers from Central Asia to the United States. Participants gained access to cutting-edge research in renewable energy, robotics, and biomedicine.
“Science is a universal language that unites nations for common goals,” he emphasizes.
Entrepreneurship and career prospects
In addition to academic programs, Global Grand University promotes entrepreneurship education. In collaboration with American business schools, it has launched startup incubators and acceleration programs that provide students with the tools they need to create global projects.
“Entrepreneurship is a mindset that changes the economy,” says Rakhimov.
Today, 70% of graduates of its educational programs receive offers from international companies or start their own businesses, introducing international standards in Kazakhstan.
Long-term strategy
The partnerships initiated by Rakhimov are aimed at sustainable development. He emphasizes that it is important for Kazakhstan not just to import foreign models, but to create unique solutions that combine global standards and national characteristics.
“Improving teacher training, integrating digital technologies, and developing critical thinking form the basis for the country's future progress,” he concludes.
