Tag Heuer Announce Porsche Partnership with New Carrera Watch

Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer and the legendary German sports car manufacturer Porsche have just released the first collaboration from their newly announced partnership. Following in the footsteps of other luxury watchmakers and marques such as Jacob & Co and Bugatti, the two have created a brand new watch, the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.

The name Carrera has been associated with TAG Heuer and Porsche for generations, which is seemingly why the two luxury manufacturers have chosen it as the first product to launch to celebrate the partnership, though we expect to see many more new products arriving soon.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph – based on TAG Heuer’s Carrera Sport Chronograph design – features a distinctive tachymeter scale engraved on the bezel. However, those familiar with the existing design will notice a number of features inspired by Porsche’s design essence, showcasing the union of the two brands. Porsche’s engraved inscription is visible on the bezel and the German car manufacturer’s recognisable font is also used for the indexes.

The Carrera features a 44mm polished and fine brushed steel case adorned in the Porsche colours: red, black, and grey. On the rear of the watch there is a transparent crystal case back showcasing the oscillating mass, specifically designed as an homage to Porsche’s celebrated steering wheel. The dial’s asphalt effect, created especially for this watch, is designed to highlight the combined passion for the road from the two brands. Porsche lovers will also recognise the Arabic numerals recalling the styling seen on the dashboard of Porsche sports cars.

This beautiful timepiece is completed on a soft calf leather strap with stitching that echoes the Porsche interior, or if you would prefer you can have your Carrera watch on an interlocking bracelet. The watch itself features the famed Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement with an impressive 80-hour power reserve.

Owners will delight in the fact that the styling doesn’t stop there, with the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph delivered in bespoke packaging using the same colours and styling that feature on the watch itself. Another fine touch is the inclusion of a luxury travel pouch for the timepiece finished with Porsche red interior.
