Bio: In 1988, Satya Nadella attained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology before travelling to the US to study for a Master of Science in Computer Science which he obtained in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He later received his MBA degree from the University of Chicago.
Nadella was appointed the new CEO of Microsoft in 2014 – he is the 3rd CEO in the company’s history. Before that, he was Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise group.
His other previous roles include President of the Server & Tools Division, Vice-President of the Business Division and Corporate Vice-President of Business Solutions and Search & Advertising Platform Group.
Under Nadella’s stewardship, Microsoft has done well, the stock has hit an all-time high and risen over 130%. Barack Obama honoured Nadella with the Champion of Change Award in 2015.
