Bio: Ulf Mark Schneider, born on September 9, 1965, is a German-American executive who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé, a position he has held since 2017. Prior to his role at Nestlé, he was the CEO of the healthcare conglomerate Fresenius SE. He obtained U.S. citizenship in 2003. He earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Schneider served as the group finance director for Gehe UK plc, a pharmaceutical wholesale and retail distributor based in Coventry, England. Prior to this role, Schneider held various senior executive positions at Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, the majority shareholder of Gehe, a diversified German industrial company. In November 2001, Schneider joined Fresenius as the chief financial officer of Fresenius Medical Care. He later became the CEO of Fresenius from May 2003 until June 2016, during which time the company experienced significant growth in terms of employees, revenue, and net income. Schneider oversaw several strategic acquisitions, including HELIOS Kliniken, Renal Care Group, APP Pharmaceuticals, Liberty Dialysis, and the purchase of 41 hospitals from Rhön-Klinikum. In June 2016, Schneider was appointed as the CEO of Nestlé S.A., becoming the first outsider to lead the company since 1922. During his tenure, Schneider focused on capital spending in higher-growth categories such as coffee, pet food, baby food, water, and consumer health. He also oversaw the divestment of U.S. confections and ice cream businesses while leading acquisitions of various companies including Atrium Health, Blue Bottle Coffee, Sweet Earth Foods, Chameleon Cold-Brew, Tails.com, Freshly, and the Starbucks retail brand.
