Bio: Spiegel attended the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica and took design classes at the Otis College of Art and Design while still in high school, as well as classes at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. During this time, he experimented with Photoshop and had an unpaid internship in sales at Red Bull. After this, he was accepted into Stanford University, which he left in 2012 in order to focus on creating Snapchat before completing his degree.
The app was later founded along with fellow classmates Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, and Spiegel serves as Co-founder and CEO to this day. Snapchat currently has around 191 million daily active users around the world. With $4 billion in wealth, Spiegel was ranked #854 on the Forbes 400 in 2016, and serves as a member of the Berggruen Institute’s 21st Century Council.
