In the heart of London’s Tower Bridge district, Boomer Gallery has launched IDENTITY, an international contemporary art exhibition running from May 9 to 14, 2025. With contributions from 75 artists spanning painting, sculpture, digital media, and installation, the exhibition is a compelling reflection on the role of art in shaping and revealing the human sense of self. Situated in one of the city’s most culturally trafficked locations, IDENTITY affirms Boomer Gallery’s reputation as a hub for globally relevant, concept-driven exhibitions.

Curated under the provocation “Do we create art to be seen, or to see ourselves?”, IDENTITY invites artists to explore how personal, social, and cultural narratives inform their creative process. The works on display engage deeply with the contradictions of visibility and vulnerability, performance and perception, asking viewers to consider how identity is constructed—and continually reconstructed—in contemporary life. Boomer Gallery’s location on historic Tooley Street, just steps from Tower Bridge, adds symbolic resonance to the show: in a space where history and modernity converge, artists confront the mutable boundaries of who we are and how we are seen.

Xianghan Wang, a Los Angeles–based XR/motion designer known for her immersive approaches to cultural storytelling, presents two works from her ongoing project The Rhythm of Tai Chi, each translating the philosophical essence of Tai Chi into immersive and digital form. Bamboo Forest envelops viewers in a tranquil grove symbolizing flow, rootedness, and breath, while Desert introduces themes of solitude, impermanence, and inner strength. Both pieces express the flow of “Qi,” or vital energy, through luminous forms and spatial rhythm—offering a poetic meditation on balance, presence, and the act of becoming.

Wang’s work stands in perfect dialogue with the exhibition’s curatorial vision. She emphasizes identity not as a fixed portrait, but as a lived practice—something shaped by attention, intention, and embodied experience. In doing so, her pieces echo IDENTITY’s central theme: that art is both mirror and mask, a means of seeing ourselves more clearly and shielding what we are not ready to reveal.

With IDENTITY, Boomer Gallery continues its mission to showcase artists engaging with urgent cultural questions through innovative media and thoughtful form. The exhibition offers not only a window into diverse contemporary practices, but a platform for critical dialogue on the evolving nature of identity in a rapidly changing world.
