In 2025, Ukrainian entrepreneur Andrii Matiukha, founder of the FAVBET group of companies and the charitable organization Favbet Foundation, established a new personal initiative — the Andrii Matiukha Foundation. This project became a platform for implementing Matiukha’s individual initiatives and fostering international cooperation aimed at supporting Ukraine’s resilience and further development amid social challenges.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation is a logical extension of the Favbet Foundation’s work but with a focus on strategic projects addressing the country's recovery and long-term growth. According to the foundation’s website, its mission is to provide charitable support for Ukraine’s development and to assist people affected by crises.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation’s Collaboration with International Partners
One of the foundation’s top priorities is expanding international partnerships. Notably, in May 2025, the foundation supported the opening of the international art installation "ORIGAMI for UKRAINE". A composition of 5,000 origami birds, hand-made by children from the Kyiv Youth Palace, was displayed on the facade of the Museum of the History of Kyiv. The project served not only as a symbol of resilience but also as a platform for fundraising to support the treatment of the wounded at the Kyiv City Rehabilitation Center.
"This project unites key priorities for us: medicine, international partnership, and community involvement. That’s why we joined," noted Andrii Matiukha. The installation was the result of a partnership between Kyiv and Brussels and will be exhibited for 90 days.
Additionally, in cooperation with Ukrainian and international partners, the foundation contributed to organizing the charity auction "Buy a Lot from Legends of Ukrainian Sport so Orphans Can Have a Football Field", which took place in May 2025 at the Dynamo Stadium in Kyiv. The auction aimed to raise funds for building a football field and an inclusive children's sports playground for the orphans of the Zhytomyr Infant Home.
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation was a partner of the event, assisting with broadcasting and collecting valuable auction lots. Among the lots were: national team jerseys from the Ukraine–Belgium match, gear signed by Oleksandr Usyk, Vitalii Klychko, Andrii Shevchenko, Serhii Stakhovsky, and other legends of Ukrainian sports.
Key Initiatives of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation in 2025
Modern Medical Aid for Okhmatdyt
In February 2025, the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, in partnership with the charitable organization Good Donations, delivered a Thompson retractor system to the emergency surgery department of the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt. The equipment was valued at 2.22 million UAH.
According to department head Roman Zhezhera, more than 60 complex surgeries were performed on the new system within the first two months — including operations for children with cancer, congenital anomalies, and mine-explosive injuries.
"Thanks to this retractor, the surgeon gains greater freedom of movement, better visualization of the surgical field, and can work faster and more safely — which is extremely important in pediatric surgery," commented Andrii Matiukha.
The system is used in abdominal, thoracic, neurosurgical, oncological, and orthopedic operations and helps reduce surgery time, surgeon fatigue, and the risk of tissue damage. In total, the department performs hundreds of operations annually using this equipment.
Support Portal "YE — PROTEZ"
With support from the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, the portal "YE — PROTEZ" was created — an online platform for military personnel and civilians who lost limbs due to the war. The platform offers guidance on prosthetics, physical and psychological rehabilitation. Its goal is to provide comprehensive access to information necessary for full recovery, including prosthesis selection, funding opportunities, rehabilitation programs, and the implementation of engineering solutions in the field of inclusion.
Future Plans and Five Strategic Priorities
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation positions itself as a platform providing charitable support for projects focused on Ukraine’s recovery and development, as well as initiatives to support its citizens. Its strategy is to support large-scale projects, currently focusing on five key areas:
- rehabilitation and reintegration of veterans;
- strengthening community resilience;
- modernization of healthcare and emergency services;
- humanitarian projects in education, culture, and science;
- international cooperation to support Ukraine’s recovery.
Creating a major charitable foundation is not unique for Ukraine. What makes this one particularly interesting is the personality behind it. Matiukha is known for both his broad business interests and significant charitable work. As a result, there is growing anticipation that his eponymous foundation could soon become a key driver in Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
