What is a trillion?
A trillion is ONE MILLION MILLION or 1,000,000,000,000 or 1,000 billions.
What does a trillion buy you?
1 . Buy a Tesla. The model 3 Tesla starts at around $34,990 according to the Tesla website. If you were a trillionaire, I’ve worked out that you could buy around 28 million of the Tesla Model 3 or 28,579,594 to be precise.
2 . Buy a new house. The average median house price in the USA is currently $412,000. Why not buy 427,184 houses? You could probably give a few away to friends and family and have still have a few thousand left over.
3 . Private jet. F1 megastar Lewis Hamilton’s Bombardier Challenger 605 jet, cost a cool $29 million. With a top speed of more than 850 km/h and capable of accommodating up to 19 passengers you could certainly live the high life in one or a few of these or 34, 482 to be exact! Yes, 34 thousand private jets.
4 . Private Island. How about living a life of luxury on your own private island. Richard Branson paid $180,000 for Necker island (situated in the British Virgin Islands) in 1978. Today Necker island is worth $157 million. Not a bad return. 1 trillion would buy you 6,369 Necker islands.
5 . Meta Platforms (Facebook). Why not buy Facebook for £964 billion and still have 36 billion spare change.
