History of the Brit Awards

The fist Brit awards was in 1977 as a celebration of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. It became an annual event from 1982 known as the British record industry’s trade association. In 1988 was the first live broadcasted awards event.

The Brit awards are a great way to introduce new and rising talent to the music scene and celebrate those who have been releasing work they can be proud of.

A significant amount of the proceeds from the show go to the BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the BPI which has donated £25 million to charitable causes since 1989

This is the biggest night for the UK music industry as the public speculate about who will win, Artists are interviewed, perform, and hopefully win the famous award.

Who are you rooting for?
