Japanese Billionaire Seeking ‘Partner’ to Travel into Space with Him

A Japanese billionaire has achieved recent global popularity by announcing that as he embarks on a ‘moon’ voyage via SpaceX’s maiden tourist trip, he is looking for a suitable female ‘life partner’ to accompany him.

Yusaku Maezawa, a 44-year old Japanese billionaire, entrepreneur and art collector, has officially announced his pursuit of a female suitor to follow him on SpaceX’s tourist voyage around the moon. According to the BBC, the fashion mogul will be the first ever civilian passenger to fly around the moon, and he wants to find the perfect first woman to make the journey with him.

Starship rocket mission, operated by SpaceX, is due for departure in 2023 and will be the first lunar mission mankind has embarked on since 1972, so he and she will make history together. In his official Twitter appeal, Maezawa says he wants to share the experience with a “special” woman.

Maezawa recently split up from girlfriend and popular actress Ayame Goriki, but is now asking women to line up for a “planned match-making event” on his website, with the hashtag #MZ_looking_for_love. “As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: Continuing to love one woman,” Maezawa says on his website.

“I want to find a ‘life partner’,” Maezawa added. “With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space.”

The website includes a long list of conditions that the woman should meet, and a detailed schedule for the three-month long application process. Some of the conditions include being single, over 20, always positive and of course, at least have an interest in travelling into space. Applications close this weekend, 17 January, so if you’re the one, click the link and get excited!
