Here Denise shares her insights into the benefits of life coaching, the importance of healthy relationships and offers her tips on how to achieve a better work-life balance.

What motivates you most about coaching leaders to manage themselves better?

Leaders often inspire and encourage others to be their best – simply by leading from example. Great leaders often demonstrate excellent communication skills, courage, clarity in risk taking, passion, honesty and integrity.

I am motivated to coach leaders as often – being a leader can be a lonely place. It’s a ladder that needs to be climbed that often means sacrifice and individuation to a point that sometimes work- life balance can be compromised.

I enjoy exploring and navigating the intriguing mind-sets of leaders to challenge, support and hold them accountable to their personal happiness.

What are the benefits of life coaching?

The Dalai Lama once said “the purpose of our lives is to be happy”, and for me, that is the real benefit of coaching. What happiness actually means is unique to each and every one of us, and more and more people are turning to a Life Coach nowadays to help them discover more happiness in their life

Life Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that can help you to produce phenomenal results in your life, career and / or businesses. Life Coaching is not counselling or therapy; it is goal-led and is about achieving positive results in your life through awareness raising and goal setting.

What are your tips for high achievers on how to achieve a good work-life balance? What do they have to sacrifice in order to achieve it?

Work smarter – my starting point would be to get my clients to define success– this will be personal to all leaders and will determine the quality of your relationships both professionally and personally.

Prioritise what matters – if you desire more fun, joy and meaningful personal relationships then give this focus and positive intent –make time to include a healthy balance between work, me time and time with others.

Creating realistic boundaries that allow for a balance between work and personal life to be achieved.

Keep connected and present and arrive to all situations whole, aware and with a degree of joy.

Apply the Strategist mind-set to your personal life – set intentions and follow through consistently.

In your opinion, what is the importance of healthy relationships – at work and in the office?

Healthy relationships at work and home are the fundamental building blocks to achieving happiness and contentment.

The primary relationship is with self and must be based on self- value and self- love. I believe that all other relationships that you have with other people mirror the quality of the relationship with yourself.

Healthy relationships allow, accept, and are powerful in an expansive and connected way.

How do you help high achievers when it comes to exploration of inner happiness and contentment?

I help high achievers explore inner happiness and contentment through questioning, challenging limited thinking, listening carefully and compassionately to their inner voice/critic which may be working against their true desires and soul purpose.

I challenge ego-led thinking and focus on bringing them to an expression of authenticity and connectedness. I create a supportive space for them to create their own solutions.
